Well just when you thought it was safe to finish reading part three . Here is part four of my Reasons series. I've added something that vaguely resembles a plot to this one but it doesn't take up steam space. As always these characters aren't mine, yada dadda . Reasons To Touch By Nirvana Kliese Miss Parker jerked upright as the phone beside her bed let out another intrusive ring. She rubbed her head tiredly for a moment before lifting the receiver to her ear slowly. "What?" She grumbled, still barely awake. The voice on the other end was light, even at this time of morning. "Hi sweetie it's me." She sat up straighter at the sound of her fathers voice. "Daddy it's 4:00am why are you calling me." She asked, her mind humming at the possibilities. His voice stayed happy but grew slightly more serious. "I need you to come down here right away. I have something to show you." He explained. She took a deep breath and shook her head into the phone. "At 4:00am? Daddy can't you just tell me?" "No. I need you here ASAP." He answered promptly, his voice now more stern. She opened her mouth to reply when the end of the phone line went dead. She placed it down slowly. He never had changed. She threw off her blankets and got to her feet, pulling a suit from her wardrobe. What could make him call her at this time? Needing her there now? And good news? She shook her head as her mind buzzed at the possibilities. She stepped into the shower and stood under the hot water for a moment. Allowing each drop to work on the task of waking her. All of a sudden she stopped. Jarod was the only thing she could think of that he would need her so urgently for. They must have found out where he was. She let a small smile creep onto her lips as she stepped out of the stream of running water, wrapping a towel around herself. She always used to look forward to catching Jarod for the fun of the chase. Now she looked forward to it for a slightly different reason. * * * * She stepped into the elevator and watched the doors close with a smile. She diddn't care about this elevator today. The thoughts of it's past diddn't even flash though her mind. She was thinking about him. Her heart started to beat faster as the carriage came to a halt and the doors opened themselves slowly, exposing another hall. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She was in The Centre. She had to want Jarod back here. She began to walk down the hall quickly heading for Broots office. When she reached it she stopped at the sight of a white post-it note stuck securely to the door. "Miss Parker come to SL 25 room 15." She lifted off the note and stared at it for a moment. They diddn't keep any information on Jarod down there, at least not that she knew of. She let out a sigh as realization hit her. Could they have caught him? She scrunched up the note and began to jog towards the elevator, all the time silently praying that she was wrong. * * * * She walked down the silent hall quickly, approaching room 15 fast. When she reached it she was stopped by two sweepers. They grabbed her arms roughly and held her back. She took a deep breath. This was big. "Let me go." She hissed irritably. They kept their hold firm. "Dr. Raines said not to let anyone inside, not even kick butt women with attitude problems." One of the men shot back. She kept her face expressionless. "I have authorization." She growled. The two men exchanged glances. The first man pressed a small button beside the door. A voice came through the recorder beside the lock. "What is it?" The voice asked irritably, obviously having better things to do. One of the sweepers eyed Miss Parker again before speaking. "We got a little missy here who claims to have authorization to enter." He explained into the small microphone. "Let her in." The door hissed open as the voice ended. She glared at the men coldly as she broke away from their grasp. "Remove your weapons Miss." The second man instructed calmly. She turned to him and stared disbelievingly. "What?" She hissed as fiercely as she could. He sighed. "It's the rules." She let out a deep breath and reluctantly handed him her gun. This was getting bigger by the second. She stepped into the room unsurely. Her heels clicking against the floor lightly. She past two more sets of guards as she entered. Her mind raced, hopeing she'd be wrong at what she thought she'd find. She stepped past the final set of guards and into a large room, empty except for Sydney, her father and Mr. Raines. Her father turned to face her and smiled, stepping out of the way of a slumped over figure in the center of the room. When she saw who it was she gasped. Jarod raised his head and stared at her, his eyes confused and sad. He was tied to a chair securely. his arms pulled hard behind his back. He wore no gag but sat silent. He had nothing to say. Or nothing he could say here. After a moment of silence he spoke, willing his voice to sound as cold as possible. "Good morning Miss Parker, I guess you've met the welcome wagon?" He greeted her, struggling to hide the warmth in his voice. She stood staring at him for another moment. His eyes were glazed and tired yet burning with anger and hurt. She stared into to them, lost in the spell they wove. Finally she tore herself away and turned to her father. She walked over to him and grabbed him by the arm, pulling him into a quiet corner of the room. He allowed her to lead him, not fighting, just waiting in anticipation of what she was about to say. She turned to him, her teeth clenched. "What the *hell* is he doing here?!" She snarled, trying to keep her voice low. Mr. Parker seemed surprised. "Jarod needed to be returned to The Centre." He stated calmly. Miss Parker paced around in a circle for a moment before raising her hand to convey her next point. "*I* was hired to bring him back! That was my job! Not some sweepers!" She hissed, struggling to keep her voice controlled. Mr. Parker shrugged. "You should be happy honey! Our deal is off!" He smiled, trying to calm her. She tuned around quickly and threw him against the wall hard. "It was my job to bring him back." She spat, her teeth clenched. Mr. Parker half cowered for a moment at the acid in her words then stood up straighter, pushing her hands off his shoulders. "It almost seems as though you don't want him here." He whispered menacingly, as she saw anger in his eyes for the first time she could remember. She stepped back slightly, pulling her normal act on like a mask. She shook her head as she took a deep breath. "Professional pride daddy. No more no less." She responded, her voice controlled. He smiled. "Well Jarods here at last, you can stay on for a while if you like?" He offered, the warmth in his voice returning. She looked up at him for a moment, studying his face intently like a confused child. "I'd like that." She nodded finally. * * * * Jarod's wrists throbbed and his head was still spinning. He turned his head to the side slightly, straining to hear Miss Parker's conversation. He smiled inwardly as some of her words became clear. She was fighting for him. He let out a painful grunt as he was pushed back against the solid chair. He looked up at the sweeper standing beside him and his eyes travelled to Sydney. His face was drawn and confused, frustrated at what to do. He turned away from Jarod after a moment, unable to look into eyes pleading for the answers he diddn't have. Jaord snapped back into alertness by Miss Parker clicking her fingers loudly. "Get out." She instructed coldly, pointing to everyone but Jarod. Mr. Raines stepped forward slowly. "What do you think your doing?" He asked, her voice menacing as usual. She narrowed her eyes at him, dropping the pitch of her voice so that it matched the tone of his. "I want to talk to Boy Wonder alone." He wheezed loudly then headed for the door with the others. She followed him with her eyes as he left, exploring the sterile room for recording devices or cameras. Her eyes fell on two cameras in the corner of the room. She cursed silently as she watched them leave. Slowly she turned to face him, her eyes a mixture of emotions. "There are no bugs." He said finally breaking the heated silence. She let out a small laugh and paced around slowly. "Well at least I can talk to you." She shrugged fighting a smile. She stepped closer to him, her whole body aching to touch him. He jerked away. "The camera." He whispered, willing it to disappear. She jumped back quickly, gaining control again. "Right." She took a deep breath. "How did they catch you?" She asked, trying to make small talk. He shrugged. "They set a trap, they made it look like someone was hurt and waited till I stopped to help." He laughed bitterly then raised his head so that his eyes met hers. "It's crazy though," He smiled a small smile. "That I'm less upset about being here than I am about not being able to hold you." She felt her heart ache at his words. "Is there any way to cover that camera?" She smiled, her face brightening despite the thick tension. He shook his aching head. "Nope." He tried to roll his shoulders unsuccessfully. They were pulled back tightly by the ropes that bound him=2E He looked back up at her to find her staring at him, her eyes ablaze with desire. She turned away when she caught him looking back at her, almost ashamed to have been studying his rippling muscles at a time like this. She struggled to hide the fact that she was blushing and turned back to him. He smiled when he saw her pink cheeks. "I'm sorry you got caught." She mouthed silently, unable to risk anyone finding out what she was saying, afraid of the consequences. She closed her eyes. To be truthful consequences diddn't matter to her right now, what mattered was him. His voice broke her out of her thoughts. "It's ok Miss Parker." He smiled a small smile, ignoring his aching shoulders. She heard the rattle of keys outside the door, signaling she'd been in there too long. She looked at him one last time, her eyes shining with longing before turning to the door slowly. * * * * Miss Parker stared at Jarods room. It echoed with the eerieness of prison, it's bars close together, painting a picture without hope. Jarod rose from where he was sitting by the airvent and approached her. She walked close to the cell and placed her hands on the bars. He stared at her for a moment in silence. His desire apparent in what he diddn't say. Slowly he approached her and placed his hands on top of hers. She closed her eyes as a shiver of electricity pumped through her. She opened her eyes again and stared at him, frozen for words, her whole body aching for his. He smiled softly, his eyes full of hope. He leant in slowly and planted a soft kiss on her lips that resembled their first kiss together. She was barely able to control her emotions. It was an innocent kiss but it promised so much more. She opened her eyes to stare into his. They mirrored her own passion. He brushed her cheek lightly. "Meet me in the air vent at midnight." He whispered, moving his hands off hers and moving back to the other side of the room. She smiled at him as he walked away. Hopefully midnight wouldn't be so far away. * * * * She opened the vent quickly and slid inside into one of the large passageways so rarely seen. Her heart raced and her breath was fast from chasing him. She ran a short way straight ahead, her heels clicking loudly on the shining steel. She continued to run further and further into the maze of corridors. Wondering how long it would take them to fine her. Or Jarod. She came to a cross road in the pipes when she felt a familiar hand cover her mouth and pull her to him. She stood still for a moment. Allowing herself to surrender to his powerful hold, feeling his body pressed against hers. Feeling his breath rising and falling against her back as he held her there for a moment longer. Suddenly he turned her around to face him. His eyes shone with fearful desire. Wanting, yearning, and more unfulfilled passion than she had ever remembered. She stared at him for a moment, almost frozen by his melting gaze. She parted her lips as if to speak but her unspoken words were hushed as he covered her mouth with his own. She let out a moan as she pressed her body against his. She fell into his arms as they tumbled to the cool floor. Their kisses were frantic and hungery. They had longed to hold eachother. She broke away from the kiss for a moment, tugging at his shirt as her hands began to explore his muscular torso. "You've given me some great reasons so far." She smiled softly, kissing him again, her lips expressing her present longing. He moaned desperately as he surrendered to her kiss, meeting it with one of his own. He allowed his hands to roam, caressing her skin gently. He felt her skin burn with passion at his touch. Her whole body responding. "It's funny though, how there's a reason that can't be spoken." He whispered, closing his lips around her earlobe, nibbling gently. She let her emotions run wild at his touch. She covered his mouth with her own before he could continue, feeling her blouse drape off her shoulders. She finally pulled away from him enough to speak. She felt his ragged breathing against her chest and she met his smoldering gaze with her own. "Oh and what reason's that?" She asked, running her fingers through his hair and allowing her hands to come to rest at the back of his neck for a moment. Kissing him again she continued to let her hands roam and she began to stroke his strong back gently. Running her nails down it seductively. He let out a soft moan and swallowed hard, struggling to keep his mind present long enough to answer her question. He kissed her again, expressing his words unspoken as his tongue danced passionately with hers in a breathtaking kiss. He pulled back and gazed into her eyes for a moment. "The reason to touch." He smiled, running his hands over her legs. He felt her response to his touch as he kissed her, feeling very essence of her being. She let her body slacken against his. She ran her fingers over his muscular arms, all the while lost in his eyes. "God I've wanted to hold you." She whispered, their passion growing frantic once more. He let out a moan of agreeance as they tumbled over the floor, neither aware of the cold and both forgetting where they where more each minute. Suddenly she jerked away from him as she heard the distant patter of footsteps approaching. She quickly pulled her blouse closed and kissed him one final time, allowing the remainder of her desire to fuel the kiss=2E He pulled back, out of breath. "Promise me you'll come back." She whispered as she heard the creak of the vent opening and the shouts of the men approaching. He smiled cheekily. "Well next time your just going to have to give me a reason to." He winked, getting to his feet quickly and dashing off silently down the corridor. She got to her feet and chased after him briefly, putting on as much of a show as she could. "Miss Parker?!" Sydney called, approaching her quickly=2E "What were you doing up here?! We heard a lot of noise?!" He called, struggling to be heard over the sweepers calls to eachother. She took a deep breath, putting together her unplanned story. "I was wrestling boy wonder." She sighed, fighting the smile that was threatening to appear on her lips. "He won." She finished. * * * * Miss Parker sat at her desk with her feet up, soaking in the events of the past few hours. She smiled to herself at her story, and how true it really was. She was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts by Sydney's footsteps behind her. She spun the chair around to face him and nodded. "Hey Syd what's on your mind?" She asked calmly. He stepped slightly closer and frowned. "I have a question." He started, his voice quizzical. She nodded, curious at what he was about to ask. He dropped the volume in his voice slightly as he stepped closer. "Why wrestle Jarod? You had a weapon Miss Parker. You could have shot him." He asked curiously. She struggled to fight a smile as she remembered their "wrestling" match. After a long moment she shrugged. "I thought he had a gun in his pocket." She rose to her feet and slipped on her jacket. As she approached the door she turned back to him and raised her eyebrow. "Turned out he was just glad to see me." She finished unable to fight that smile any longer. The End....for now Well what do you think? Part five will probably not be far off either
