Resting Place

We found them there. Together.

His head was bent close to hers, her face turned up towards him. Their arms were intertwined, left over right, so that we could not tell who was the comforter and who had sought comfort. Both of them smiled.

The heat was such that she might have died first. His wound was such that we cannot be certain.

We will find out how they died, and by what hand. There will be answers for the living, and revenge for the dead. But right now, there is only the stars.

We left them there. Together.
