"Just try it."

"Why not? It won't kill you."

"I've heard that before."

A pause, then, "Dammit, Nick!"

"All right! But if something terrible happens to me, you'll have to live with it."

"I'll take my chances."

"How do you stop?"

"Put your toe dow..."

Thump. "Ouch!"

"Or, you can just fall."

A groan. "Thanks for the tip. Care to try it?"

"No thanks, I'll...."

Thump "Thanks a lot, Nick."

"Anytime, Nat."

"Nick, are you ever going to let go of the railing?"

"...Probably not."

"There are little kids here with more guts than you!"

"I'll bet I live longer than they do. Who thought of putting wheels on shoes, anyway?"

"Quit stalling. Coward."

"I am not...."

"Happy now? And stop laughing!"

"See, this isn't so hard!"

"Will you stop going in circles? I'm getting dizzy. How do you go backwards like that?"

"Practice, Detective, practice."

"Show me."

"Nick, you've only been away from the rail for ten minutes. Don't get ahead of your..."

"You were saying, Nat?"

"Shut up and help me up. "

"Anything for you, milady."

"And stop laughing!"

"Who chooses the music in this place, anyway? It's loud."

"Never mind."

"It could be worse."

"It could be The Nightcrawler."

Pause "What's the name of this band?"

"Limbo on skates? Why?"

"Why not?"

"Where have I heard that before?"

"Come on, Nick, let's give it a try! What could it hurt?"

"What could it hurt, eh?"

"Shut up and help me up! And stop laughing!"

"Have we done this for long enough yet?"

We're just getting started."

"My legs hurt. Not to mention my rear."

"Just a few more times around the rink, Nat."

"God, I've created a monster."

"At last, a slow song. My legs thank you!"

"Natalie...may I have this dance?"

A pause. "Of course."

"Yes, Nick?"

"My pleasure."

Everyone should wite a really fluffy shipper fic at least once in their lives -- preferably early on, to get it out of the way. < g > Look, I was really young, I'd just gotten into FK fandom, and it seemed like a good idea at the time! And these two always needed more damn fun in their lives, to balance out the sturm und drang angst. Take it in the spirit in which it was intended.
